About the award-winning documentary:

As a writer, producer, and director of “Lalo’s House”, Kelley Kali has created a poignant film inspired by true events, telling the story of two young Haitian sisters who unknowingly get trapped in a child trafficking ring. The film includes Gracelle Beauvais (The Jamie Foxx Show, Spider-Man 2017, and White House Down) who is an Executive Producer and actress. And, includes Jimmy Jean-Louis from “Claws”. “Lalo’s House” is taking the 2018 film festival season by storm (Cannes, ABFF, and Telluride), recently winning the inaugural Richard and Ellen Sandor Prize, at the Black Harvest Film Festival. A quote from that film festival is, “Kelley Kali’s gift for portraying such a devastating topic in such a beautiful way reminds us of Toni Morrison’s writing.”

Kelley accepted the silver medal in the “Narrative (Domestic Film Schools) category for “Lalo’s House” during the 45th Annual Student Academy Awards on Thursday, October 11, in Beverly Hills.
